Last Friday, the former vice president of Ecuador, Jorge Glas, was arrested in a violent police raid at the Mexican Embassy in Quito where he was to be transferred to a maximum security prison. Reports indicate that he attempted to commit suicide with a drug overdose and was then transferred to a hospital in Guayaquil. It is said that he consumed an overdose of medication in a suicide attempt and was declared in a medical coma.

Rumors circulated that Glas was transferred to a Naval Force hospital and may have already returned to prison, but no official confirmation has been provided by Ecuadorian authorities. Former president Rafael Correa commented on the situation on social media, expressing his concern and support for Glas.

Meanwhile, Denmark is seeking alternatives to imported soybean meal that is environmentally damaging. The country is considering grass protein as a replacement for soy from South America to reduce the environmental impact of livestock feed. This initiative aims to promote sustainable farming practices and reduce reliance on imported products.
