Reports indicate that he attempted to commit suicide with a drug overdose and was then transferred to a hospital in Guayaquil. It is said that he consumed an overdose of medication in a suicide attempt and was declared in a medical coma.
Rumors circulated that Glas was transferred to a Naval Force hospital and may have already returned to prison, but no official confirmation has been provided by Ecuadorian authorities. Former president Rafael Correa commented on the situation on social media, expressing his concern and support for Glas.
Meanwhile, Denmark is seeking alternatives to imported soybean meal that is environmentally damaging.
