The foreign ministers of Egypt and Jordan called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages taken by Palestinian fighters during a joint press conference in Cairo. French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné mentioned that France plans to present a political solution to the war in the UN Security Council, focusing on a two-state model that has long been supported by the international community but opposed by the Israeli government.

The situation in Gaza is dire, with the international community struggling to prevent a humanitarian disaster. Safadi accused Israel of using starvation as a weapon and emphasized the importance of supporting organizations like UNRWA in providing aid to Palestinian refugees. Egypt and Jordan continue to push for a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza to alleviate the suffering of civilians caught in the conflict.

The UN Security Council passed a resolution for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, while the International Court of Justice ordered Israel to ensure access to urgent humanitarian aid for Gaza. The ministerial trio also expressed support for UNRWA, the UN relief agency for Palestinian refugees, amidst funding crises and accusations against its employees.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry emphasized the need to avoid further destruction and humanitarian suffering in Gaza and called on Israel to open border crossings for humanitarian aid. French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné expressed frustration that international law seems to have no impact on Israel on the ground and criticized Israel for using starvation as a weapon.
