The GMU Center for Community Mental Health is committed to providing affordable, accessible, and culturally sensitive mental health services to the DMV community. The center will be hosting its Seventh Annual Food for Thought fundraiser on May 2 to raise money for free community health programs and emotional support services.

During the event, attendees can enjoy food and drinks, view cars from auto partners, hear inspiring stories from community partners and former clients, and bid on auction items to support youth and veteran funds. To learn more about purchasing tickets or becoming a sponsor, visit the center’s website.

The center’s mission is to train the next generation of behavioral health providers while offering a range of services from free workshops to therapy and testing services for children and adults. Their services include traditional high-quality, evidence-based therapy, testing services, and special programs for veterans. These services are available either for free or on a sliding scale. The center aims to provide support to all members of the community and has a focus on mental health awareness and support.
