A United Airlines flight that was heading from Houston to Seattle was diverted to Dallas due to a dog pooping in the aisle next to the first-class bathroom. According to Reddit user “gig_wizard”, they were on Flight 422 when the incident occurred. The Boeing 737 made the detour less than an hour after takeoff, and it took over two hours for ground crew to clean up the mess with paper towels.

The user shared photos of the accident and mentioned that it happened near the first-class toilet, making it unusable. Due to the time spent dealing with the mess, food on board went bad, resulting in limited snacks available for passengers. This incident has raised concerns about airline pet policies, as United Airlines does not allow pets in the cabin on some international flights but does permit them on domestic trips if they are in a carrier that fits under a seat. Service animals are an exception and do not need to be in a carrier. Passengers traveling with pets are advised to bring toys to keep them calm and plastic bags for bathroom emergencies.
