The Unity Center of Augusta hosted the “Find Us in the Community” health and wellness fair on August 1st. The event took place at the Paine College Heal Complex and was organized by Angelic Community Resource Development. In line with HIV testing month, attendees were offered HIV testing, health screenings, vendors, and more.
John Milton, CEO of Angelic Community Resource Development, emphasized the importance of knowing one’s HIV status through getting a test. He also highlighted that the event was not just about HIV testing but also focused on overall wellness. Attendees had the opportunity to get their blood pressure, eyes checked, teeth examined as well as other screenings like prostate checks and voter registration.
The fair took place from 2 to 6 pm and is an annual wellness event that will be updated and shared with the community in future events.
