The FIA Formula Regional World Cup is set to make its debut at the prestigious Guia Circuit as part of the Macau Grand Prix, a single-event competition held in junior single-seater racing. This year’s event will be reserved exclusively for Formula Regional cars, making it more accessible to a wider range of drivers competing at the regional level. Launched in 2018, Formula Regional serves as a bridge between various national Formula 4 series and the global FIA Formula 3 Championship.

FIA-sanctioned races have returned to the Asian street circuit after a three-year hiatus, following an agreement between the FIA, Macau’s FIA member club, Automobile General Association Macao-China (AAMC), and the Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee. Francois Sicard, FIA Single-Seater Strategy & Operations Director, stated that bringing Formula Regional cars to Macau for the FIA World Cup is a natural progression in the junior single-seater landscape. This move to Formula Regional machinery aligns with the historic reputation of Macau’s Formula 3 race as an event that showcases the best junior racers from around the world on one of the most challenging street circuits.

The event will take place from 14th to 17th November at the famous 6.120-kilometre street circuit in Macau. In addition to Formula Regional cars, GT3 machinery will also be participating in the FIA GT World Cup at this year’s edition of the Macau Grand Prix.
