Eric Coleman, an experienced industry professional with over 20 years of experience, has been appointed as the new president of Business Insurance at Farmers Insurance. Coleman assumed his role on April 10 and is responsible for leading commercial underwriting, product development, strategy, finance, and new market activities for the Farmers business insurance team. He will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Raul Vargas.

Coleman has a track record of success in the commercial business division and has previously held senior leadership positions at Nationwide. Most recently, he led Nationwide’s small commercial business unit, overseeing a national product portfolio and managing regional operations, underwriting, processing, and sales. Prior to his time at Nationwide, Coleman spent over five years at Travelers in regional leadership and home office product management.

This appointment underscores Farmers Insurance’s commitment to strengthening its commercial lines and business insurance offerings. With Coleman at the helm, the organization aims to enhance its underwriting capabilities, product offerings, and market strategies to better serve its customers in the agribusiness and commercial sectors. This move marks a strategic advancement for Farmers Insurance and positions the company for continued growth and success in the competitive insurance marketplace.
