The Fargo Parks Sports Center is set to open to the public on June 3rd, despite the fact that the complete structure will not be finished until the new year. Already, the impact of this facility is being felt by many individuals in the community.

Susan Faus, the parks executive director, explained that the move to the Sports Center was necessary due to the lack of space at their previous location. Staff were forced to work out of makeshift closets, which made it difficult for them to provide adequate services to visitors. However, with ample space at their new location, staff are now able to offer a wide range of amenities and services to both visitors and employees alike.

The Sports Center offers a variety of amenities including basketball courts, a full turf field, a walking track, concession stands, lactation stations and state-of-the-art rehab and training facilities provided by Sanford sports. Employees like basketball manager Freddy Coleman are excited about these features and believe they will have a positive impact on both their work and personal lives. Coleman envisions his children enjoying all of the diverse opportunities available at the Sports Center over the next decade.

Despite being still under construction, it’s clear that this facility will already have a significant positive impact on the community as it becomes a hub for wellness, recreation and family bonding in the region.
