The Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute, a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Marquette University, and Northwestern Mutual, is hosting its second annual symposium on April 24 at the UWM Student Union. This event is open to the public and aims to explore the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and its potential impact on innovation and society.

Throughout the day, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about various aspects of AI, listen to experts in industry and academia, and network with others in the AI and data science field. The symposium will begin with a fireside chat featuring NMDSI leadership, UWM Chancellor Mark Mone, Marquette President Michael Lovell, and Northwestern Mutual Chief Customer Officer Christian Mitchell. Following the chat, there will be a keynote address by Chris Wiggins, a Columbia University professor and author, discussing the role of data-empowered products and automated decision systems in shaping our political, professional, and personal experiences.

For more information about the symposium’s schedule of sessions and speakers as well as registration information, visit their website. The event will also be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person.
