In a recent interview with CNN, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan confirmed that Americans are playing a key role in the search for and release of hostages in the Gaza Strip. He stated that while the United States did not send military forces to participate in the recent operation, it has been providing support to Israel in this regard for several months. Despite not disclosing specific details about this assistance, Sullivan emphasized the importance of Hamas accepting a proposed ceasefire and releasing any remaining hostages.

According to previous reports by The New York Times, Israeli Operation Arnon was successful in freeing four hostages in Nuseirat on June 8, 2024. While American sources did not provide any intelligence information directly related to the operation, logistical support from the United States was crucial to its success.

The US has been closely working with Israeli intelligence throughout the conflict, with American and British specialists collaborating with Israeli counterparts. CNN also reported that a unit of American intelligence services played a vital role in the hostage release operation, which involved hundreds of military personnel and intelligence officers.

President Joe Biden has expressed his support for Israel’s efforts in freeing the hostages and called for continued work until all hostages are returned home and a ceasefire is achieved.
