Marvel Studios is set to reveal footage from their upcoming 2025 release, Captain America: Brave New World, at San Diego Comic Con. However, exhibitors got an early look at the film during Disney’s closing CinemaCon session. The movie takes place after the events of the 2021 Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where Sam Wilson takes over the shield left behind by Steve Rogers.

During the presentation at Caesars Palace at the Colosseum, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige described the film as “a grounded political thriller”. Anthony Mackie, who stars as Sam Wilson, also shared his excitement about being a part of his own Marvel movie after starting in the franchise 10 years ago. Mackie then introduced the exclusive footage from the movie.

The clip shown to exhibitors features Harrison Ford’s POTUS character wanting Sam Wilson to rebuild the Avengers and being impressed by Wilson’s actions in Mexico. However, Wilson is cautious about potential disagreements over how to manage the new team. The scene then shifts to Ford making a presentation to a room full of authorities, where two individuals become possessed and turn on the crowd, including Ford’s character. A fight reminiscent of Air Force One ensues as Ford’s character punches a military man in the face.

Captain America: Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah and written by Malcolm Spellman, Dallan Musson, and Matthew Orton. The film is set for release on February 14th, 2025.
