The Ascension Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its eighth annual Women in Business event at the Price LeBlanc PACE Center in Gonzales. This year’s event, presented by Our Lady of the Lake Ascension, was a huge success, with the largest attendance yet. Women from diverse backgrounds and industries came together to celebrate their achievements and build connections.
One of the highlights of this year’s event was the EmPOWER Hour, featuring five influential speakers who delivered inspiring insights and words of wisdom in just 10 minutes each. Caprice Cline, co-owner of Cypress Roofing, set the tone for the event, which included speakers such as Jackie McCreary, Greta Fleming Gordon, Jackie Baumann, Kayla Fuselier Clouatre, and Dr. Tracee Short, all of whom shared their experiences to empower attendees.
Jackie McCreary was honored with the Women in Leadership Award for her dedication and impactful contributions to the Ascension Parish community through mentorship, support, and involvement in local organizations. The event also included a seated program and luncheon catered by Parc 73 and a social hour with photo booths and shopping with local vendors.
The hat contest winners were Danielle Guadamud from Gallagher as the individual winner and Euphoria Luxe Lifestyles Gift & Décor as the group winner. Overall, the Women in Business event was a great success
