During a meeting with Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat, Gia Lai province proposed support from the ministry to research the scientific basis for restoring and sustainably managing the dipterocarp forest ecosystem. The meeting aimed to exchange experiences on organizing and managing science, technology, and innovation activities, as well as economic development in the province.
Gia Lai is known for its agricultural production, and scientific and technological advancements are crucial for supporting people in farming, growing, and processing. The provincial leaders aim to create a breakthrough in agricultural development by applying science, especially in light of climate change challenges.
One of the proposed initiatives is to research the scientific basis for restoring and sustainably managing the dipterocarp forest ecosystem in Gia Lai. Dipterocarp forests are home to many valuable species that have seen a decline due to inadequate exploitation and management.
In addition to restoring dipterocarp forests, Gia Lai also proposed other initiatives such as promoting the value of An Khe Paleolithic relic system and implementing science and technology projects. The province has made significant progress in transferring technical and technological advances to improve the quality and competitiveness of key products like coffee and cashew nuts.

He urged leaders to focus on researching technological innovation in production, agriculture, and other key sectors.
