On Friday night, the University High players were overjoyed as they celebrated their victory in the City Section Division III championship game. The team put on a strong performance and came out on top with a 2-0 win over Lincoln.

Meanwhile, in another exciting game on the same night, Eagle Rock secured a 12-8 victory over Monroe to win the City Section Division II baseball championship. With a 16-hit attack, the Eagles were able to rally back from a deficit and claim the title. Jaden Jimenez and Ayden Encarnacion led the team with their impressive hitting performances.

Monroe put up a good fight, with Aaron Beltran and Cesar Rojas contributing to the offensive effort with multiple hits and RBIs. However, it was not enough to overcome Eagle Rock’s strong performance. In contrast, University High’s pitching duo of Adrian Ambriz and Payton Graue combined for a shutout, with Ambriz striking out six batters. Wilson Gonzalez and Isaac Greenberg played key roles in driving in runs for the winning team. It was a hard-fought game that ended with University on top.
