Victor Koretzky of Specialized Factory Racing has won the UCI World Cup in Nové Město na Moravě for the second consecutive time, triumphing in the short track event. His teammate Christopher Blevins finished second, while Thomas Litscher of Lapierre Mavic Unity came in third.

The race was characterized by a fierce competition among top riders, including Olympic and World Champion Tom Pidcock of Ineos Grenadiers. Pidcock had to work hard to establish his position after starting 29th on the list.

As the race progressed, Nino Schurter of Scott-Sram led the pack without being able to break away. However, Pidcock made a bold move towards the front on the penultimate lap, but his hopes for a solo ride were dashed as Litscher took the lead on the main climb.

In the final sprint, Koretsky showcased his strength by overpowering Litscher and claiming overall victory, repeating the 1-2 finish for Specialized Factory Racing seen in Araxá. He expressed satisfaction with his performance and that of his teammates, setting up well for tomorrow’s Olympic Cross Country race.

“We did it again: one-two. It’s perfect for the team,” said Koretzky after crossing the finish line. “We will see tomorrow.” The competition promises to be intense as top riders vie for success in the demanding terrain of Nove Město na Moravě.

Victor Koretzky has been able to secure two consecutive wins at UCI World Cup races in two different years, demonstrating his impressive form and skill as a mountain biker.
