In the upcoming movie “Bando Stone & The New World,” actor, writer, and producer Donald Glover takes on the role of Bando Stone, a former pop star who finds himself comically battling for survival in a post-apocalyptic world. The teaser trailer for the film, which Glover also directed and stars in, showcases him outrunning gigantic animals and sci-fi lasers in a tropical Jurassic Island-like setting.
Glover’s character is unprepared to fend off strange sci-fi monsters, as shown in the trailer. He teams up with another survivor played by Jessica Allain and her son to move around the tropical island at night due to the monsters that come out during the day. Throughout the trailer, Glover’s character engages in humorous banter with Allain’s character questioning his abilities and usefulness in their survival efforts.
Although an official synopsis for “Bando Stone & The New World” is not yet available, the trailer showcases characters facing off against various creepy computer-generated animals. The movie features the track “Lithonia,” set to be released on July 2. “Bando Stone & The New World” was written by Evi Wilder and is produced by RCA Records and Childish Gambino through Glover’s production company, Gilga. A commercial release date has not been announced along with the trailer.
