The Los Angeles Dodgers are facing another setback with the placement of standout pitcher Bobby Miller on the 15-day injured list due to shoulder inflammation. While the injury is not considered severe, any shoulder issue for a pitcher is cause for concern. In addition to Miller, reliever Connor Brogdon was also placed on the IL, prompting the call-up of pitchers J.P. Feyereisen and Nick Ramirez to fill the roster spots.

Bobby Miller’s injury comes at a time when many were hoping for a breakout season from the sophomore pitcher. He showed promise as a rookie last season with a 3.76 ERA in 22 starts and had a strong debut this season with an impressive performance against the St. Louis Cardinals. However, he encountered struggles in subsequent appearances and will now have to wait to bounce back from this setback.

With Miller sidelined, the Dodgers have a rotation that currently consists of Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, James Paxton, and Gavin Stone. While Glasnow has performed well, the other three pitchers have been inconsistent, posting a combined 5.80 ERA in nine starts. Despite the challenges, the team is hopeful that Walker Buehler will soon return from his second Tommy John surgery, although he did experience a scare during a recent rehab start.

In case Buehler is not ready to return, the Dodgers have options on their 40-man roster for a rotation replacement including Triple-A players Kyle Hurt and Landon Knack
