A sign that had been pointing customers in the right direction for over 20 years was recently stolen from the front lawn of the world’s last Blockbuster store in Bend, Oregon. The theft has caused disappointment and frustration for the general manager, Sandi Harding, who mentioned that they do not have surveillance cameras to capture the crime and are hoping that spreading the word will help in returning the sign.

In a Facebook post, Harding expressed her disappointment over the theft, stating “It’s a sad day today! Someone has helped themselves to our beloved Blockbuster sign from our yard. Sorry many great memories with this sign from the last 20 years I’ve been here. Sometimes people really suck!!” This incident adds to past thefts, with the video return drop-box also being stolen during the summer of 2023.
