The nominees for the Boys and Girls Skier of the Year awards, presented by Detroit Area Honda Dealers, have been unveiled. The winner of each award will be announced during a live show at The Fillmore Detroit on June 18, in partnership with the U.S. Army. This event is part of a nine-month student-athlete recognition program that culminates in a red-carpet show this spring.
The live show will recognize athletes, coaches, and teams from the greater Detroit region participating in sanctioned Michigan High School Athletic Association sports. Along with the Skier of the Year awards, nominees for player of the year for 27 other sports will also be acknowledged. Additionally, other prestigious awards for on- and off-the-field achievements of student-athletes, coaches, and teams will be presented during the event. These include a Courage Award, Coaches of the Year, Teams of the Year, and Boys and Girls Athlete of the Year awards.
Nominated athletes who RSVP will receive complimentary tickets to attend the event thanks to sponsors. Nominees can register for the show online while guests can purchase their tickets through purchasing online as well.
