Deloitte has recently acquired Gryphon Scientific, a public health research and consulting company known for its expertise in artificial intelligence. This move will enhance Deloitte’s ability to collaborate with federal and government agencies on utilizing AI and other data-centric tools to detect and respond to infectious diseases.

Gryphon Scientific, established in 2005, employs a team of scientists, programmers, and policy specialists with experience in data science, scientific communications, modeling, and risk assessment. The company has utilized AI in its research efforts to analyze biological and chemical threats and was a founding member of the U.S. Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute Consortium managed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

With Gryphon now under Deloitte’s umbrella, the public sector team aims to enhance its capacity in developing practical AI solutions in health and establish trust in the technology through its Federal Health AI Accelerator organization. Additionally, Deloitte intends to expand its expertise in biosecurity, lab safety, data science, and global and domestic emergency preparedness and response by incorporating the Gryphon team into its operations.
