On Sunday, the Philadelphia 76ers faced off against the New York Knicks in a series that did not go their way. Despite the loss, they found themselves in good company as Dawn Staley, a North Philly native and former Temple University women’s basketball coach, took center stage at the game.

Before heading to the game, Staley made sure to stop by Mitchell & Ness to pick out the perfect outfit for her courtside appearance. She began the Sixers game by ringing the bell and proudly wearing an Allen Iverson t-shirt. As she revved up the fans with her enthusiasm, Staley connected with Sixers legends Allen Iverson and Julius Erving, known as Dr. J.

During the game, Staley was mic’d up by the Sixers team capturing her reactions and enthusiasm during crucial moments just like any fan watching from home. Coming off her third NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship win with South Carolina Gamecocks, Staley basked in her recent victory and shared insights on the current state of women’s basketball in a conversation with Ukee Washington, Jessica Kartalija, and Sports Director Don Bell.
