Cox Communications and Delgado Community College have joined hands once again to host the Small Business Leadership Academy. This program is specifically designed to offer continuing education and leadership development to diverse suppliers in the Cox Southeast region service area, which comprises Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. The eight-week program aims at assisting qualified, diverse suppliers in enhancing their operational sustainability and scalability.

This collaboration marks the fifth year that Cox and Delgado have offered this program. The Small Business Leadership Academy covers a wide range of topics related to business management and sustainability, including accounting, organizational performance, project management, as well as growth strategies. The program will be led by Delgado faculty at the college’s River City campus in Avondale, Louisiana. Although it is open to all Cox suppliers and non-suppliers alike, priority will be given to suppliers. Enrollment for the program is limited to 30 participants only, and those who complete it will receive continuing education units.

The enrollment deadline for the program is August 30th with an orientation and program kickoff scheduled for September 4th at the River City campus. Cox Communications is dedicated to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equity and sees this partnership as a way of strengthening the supply chain while supporting diverse suppliers. Similarly, Delgado Community College is thrilled about continuing their partnership with Cox as they help participants improve their business management skills while expanding their customer base and increasing revenue.

Arlanda Williams, Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development at Delgado Community College expressed her excitement about bringing this opportunity to a new group of students. Both Cox and Delgado are committed to supporting and growing diverse suppliers through the Small Business Leadership Academy by providing valuable skills and resources to businesses in the Southeast region service area.
