In March 2024, NASA engineers were able to retrieve information from Voyager 1’s flight data subsystem (FDS) after the spacecraft had been transmitting unintelligible data for five months. Despite the challenge, the engineering team successfully restored the spacecraft’s signal transmission capabilities, allowing it to continue sending data from beyond the solar system.
