On Monday, a coordinated attack was carried out by militants from the Sunni group Jaish al-Adl on Iranian police and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps installations in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan. The attack targeted various locations in Chabahar, including the marine police headquarters, the 1st district police department, the city criminal investigation center, and the local IRGC headquarters. According to reports, at least ten Sunni militants were killed during the attack.
The main target of the attack was Iranian police colonel Ibrahim Kuchekzai (Sargolzai), who was accused of raping a 15-year-old Baloch girl. Iranian officials confirmed that 13 individuals were killed in the attack, including police colonel Abbas Mir, police senior lieutenant Moslem Karimi, IRGC senior lieutenant Mohsen Hasan Nejad, maritime police officers Javad Jahan Bigi and Mohsen Hossein Niy, IRGC Lieutenant Colonel Hossein Entezarian, and IRGC Second Lieutenant Hossein Sarsangi.
