The Colorado Rockies emerged victorious in the first game of their Sunday doubleheader against the Seattle Mariners, winning 2-1 in 10 innings. However, the outcome of the game could have been different had it not been for a controversial fan interference call that negated a potential walk-off home run in the ninth inning.

With the score tied at 0-0 in the bottom of the ninth, Rockies catcher Jacob Stallings hit a deep drive to left field off Mariners reliever Ryne Stanek. Seattle outfielder Dylan Moore leaped in an attempt to make a catch at the wall, but a fan interfered with the play by reaching out to grab the ball. The umpires ruled it a double for Stallings, but the Rockies challenged the call, believing it should have been a home run.
