The week-long celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation, known as Small Business Week, kicked off in Colorado Springs with the Small Business Bash at Boot Barn Hall. During the event, the winners of the Small Business Week Awards were announced.

The first award went to Von Kessel & Partners of iFLY Indoor Skydiving, a business that opened its doors in March 2022. The company was founded by three retired Air Force Academy colonels who wanted to provide a unique and thrilling experience for individuals looking for an adrenaline rush.

The second award went to Behr and Behr of the Platinum Group Realtors, a family-owned business that specializes in real estate services. The company has been around for over 40 years and has built a reputation for providing top-notch service to their clients.

Jackie Lujan was recognized as the Young Entrepreneur of the Year for her work at The Lighthouse Early Care and Education. This business provides quality childcare services to families in Colorado Springs and has been making a positive impact on the community since its inception.

Zachary Barker was named Small Business Champion of the Year for his contributions to entrepreneurship growth consulting. He has helped numerous businesses grow and succeed through his expertise in marketing, sales, and financial management.

In addition to these awards, Small Business Week also featured virtual workshops, panel discussions on marketing, and other events focused on the theme “The Year of A.I. (Action & Innovation).” These events provided valuable insights into how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of small businesses and how entrepreneurs can harness its power to drive growth and success.
