In March, the Bears made a quick move to sign D’Andre Swift to a three-year, $24 million contract. The team wasted no time in addressing their running back position. Head coach Matt Eberflus explained that they targeted Swift because they were looking for a player who could be a weapon both in the deep and short parts of the field and had the ability to break off big plays. Swift fit the bill perfectly and the Bears were exactly what he was looking for, with plenty of opportunities to make plays in an offense centered around rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.

Swift expressed his excitement about the situation in Chicago, noting the potential of working with a talented rookie quarterback like Williams and a group of experienced veterans on the team. Joining Williams and Swift are new faces in Chicago, wide receivers Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze. The hope in Chicago is that these offseason acquisitions will continue to improve the team in the coming years, setting them up for success.
