Chelsea is currently considering their next moves in the striker market as both David and Guiu are approaching the last year of their contracts at their respective clubs. The Blues have expressed interest in Lille striker Jonathan David and Barcelona teenager Marc Guiu.

Jonathan David, 24, has been a subject of early talks with Chelsea and is currently representing Canada in the Copa America. His contract with Lille is set to expire, making him available for less than £30m. However, other Premier League clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham, and West Ham are also reportedly interested in him.

Marc Guiu, an 18-year-old player from Barcelona, has caught Chelsea’s eye due to his impressive performances on the field. He has a release clause of £5m in his contract and is currently in discussions to renew his deal with Barcelona.

Chelsea had also explored various options to strengthen their striker options before signing other players like Jhon Duran and Samu Omorodion. Despite these attempts, Chelsea was unsuccessful in securing new signings for their attacking lineup.

In addition to their search for a new striker, Chelsea is still actively looking to add a winger to their squad after missing out on Michael Olise who chose to join Bayern Munich instead. The Blues have agreed on a deal for defender Ian Maatsen to join Aston Villa for £37.5m, with midfielder Omari Kellyman set to move in the opposite direction for £19m.

Under new manager Enzo Maresca, Chelsea remains actively engaged in the transfer market as they plan for the upcoming season.
