OpenAI has recently introduced the memory feature of its chatbot, ChatGPT, for all subscribers of ChatGPT Plus except those in the European Union and Korea. This feature allows users to request the chatbot to remember certain topics discussed in conversations for future reference, making them more useful. With this addition, users can manage which information the chatbot can remember and also ask it to forget certain details from past conversations.

The memory function has now been made available to all paid subscribers of ChatGPT Plus, enabling them to enhance their conversations and outcomes. Users can ask questions related to the stored data without having to repeat the information. For instance, users can ask the chatbot to generate an image of their pets surfing, and with the information stored in its memory, the chatbot will automatically create the image with the specified animals.

However, users located in European Union countries or Korea currently do not have access to this tool. OpenAI has also implemented a feature that notifies users when new data has been saved in memory, displaying a ‘Memory updated’ message next to the relevant information. Users can easily manage their memories by placing their cursor over the message and clicking on ‘Manage memories’ to review and delete any unwanted data.

In addition, OpenAI has provided convenient access to all stored memories when updates are made, allowing users to review collected data at any time in settings. This enhancement aims to improve user experience and streamline using the memory feature in ChatGPT.

Overall, this update is a significant improvement for users as they can now save important information for future use without having to repeat themselves constantly. It also adds another layer of convenience for those who want more control over their conversations with ChatGPT.

It is important for OpenAI to continue improving its tools and features as it continues to grow its user base and expand into new markets. The memory feature is just one example of how technology continues to evolve and adapt
