The future of Inside the NBA, a fan-favorite NBA show, remains uncertain due to ongoing media rights negotiations. Charles Barkley and his teammates are feeling anxious and uneasy about the situation as they await news about the show’s fate.

In an interview on the Dan Patrick Show, Barkley expressed his disappointment with the situation and criticized WBD CEO David Zaslav for a past comment that may have negatively impacted negotiations with the NBA. He emphasized that the current uncertainty has left them feeling anxious and uneasy.

Reports suggest that TNT, which currently broadcasts Inside the NBA, may be replaced by other networks like ESPN, Amazon or NBC. Barkley expressed confusion over recent moves by TNT Sports to broadcast College Football Playoff games, indicating a potential shift in priorities due to the uncertain future with the NBA.

Despite this uncertainty, Inside the NBA recently won its fourth Sports Emmy award for “Best Studio Show: Limited”. Barkley mentioned exploring options to keep the show going even if TNT loses rights to the NBA, including signing the crew to his production company Fine Line Productions.

While details about what will happen next remain unclear, Barkley expressed frustration and disappointment with ongoing negotiations. He emphasized his commitment to the show and his desire to continue working with his colleagues, regardless of whether or not it continues on TNT indefinitely. For now, Inside The NBA is set to continue on TNT for another season before a new media deal comes into effect in 2025-26 season.
