On Wednesday, a meeting between the unions and management of Charleroi airport (BSCA) will take place in an effort to avoid a strike that was planned for Thursday. Nathalie Pierard, the head of communications at BSCA, confirmed this after a meeting between the parties on Tuesday evening. The staff of Charleroi airport announced the strike on Tuesday afternoon, which is expected to cause major disruption at the airport and affect more than 17,500 departing passengers and 94 flights.

Another meeting between management and the unions took place on Tuesday evening but has not yet yielded any results. The parties continued negotiations on Wednesday morning in hopes of reaching a resolution. “A long meeting took place tonight between the unions and management, and further discussions are already planned tomorrow morning to try to find a solution and avoid a strike,” said Pierard in an email sent shortly after midnight.

The ongoing negotiations aim to address the concerns of Charleroi Airport staff and find a resolution that satisfies all parties involved. It is crucial for both sides to come to an agreement before Thursday’s planned strike takes place in order to prevent disruptions at the airport and ensure smooth operations for passengers.
