The Cervantes Institute and Apple Music have teamed up with influential artists to curate playlists featuring their favorite Spanish song lyrics on Apple Music. This project, launched in honor of Spanish Language Day on April 23, showcases the richness of the Spanish language through various genres.

Artists such as Andrés Calamaro, Bunbury, and Zahara have contributed their own playlists to the project, complete with detailed comments, song fragments, and author names. Many of the songs included in the project have synchronized lyrics for users to follow along or sing.

The Cervantes Institute has also launched its profile on Apple Music, offering playlists such as ‘The word in music’, ‘Learn Spanish with music’, a selection by Spanish writer Luis Mateo Díez, and ‘What sounds at the Cervantes Institute’. This collaboration aims to promote both high culture and popular culture in promoting the Spanish language while celebrating the value of words in music.

During an event in Madrid where artists Rozalen and El Chojin were also present, Luis García Montero, director of the Cervantes Institute, emphasized the importance of showcasing cultural heritage through music while highlighting the richness of the Spanish language. He stated that this project aims not only to celebrate but also to contribute to learning Spanish for students worldwide.
