The recent retirement of former NFL quarterback Matt Ryan marks the end of an era for CBS Sports. Ryan, who played in the league for 15 years, has been tapped to join the network as a studio analyst on “The NFL Today.” This move comes as longtime analysts Phil Simms and Boomer Esiason are set to leave the show.

Ryan, who previously worked as an NFL game analyst for CBS Sports, will now be a part of the studio crew alongside James Brown, Nate Burleson, Bill Cowher, and JJ Watt. CBS Sports president and CEO David Berson expressed his excitement at having Ryan on board, praising his talent and professionalism.

Simms and Esiason both shared their gratitude for their 26-year run with CBS Sports on social media. Berson commended both of them for their dedication and contributions to CBS Sports, recognizing their impact on the network’s NFL coverage.

With Ryan bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role as a studio analyst, fans can expect a fresh perspective and insight on “The NFL Today” moving forward. This significant change marks one of the first moves made under Berson’s leadership following his recent appointment as president and CEO of CBS Sports.
