Capri-Sun, a well-known fruit juice brand among kids, recently announced that it will be replacing its partially aluminum packaging with a new mono-material sachet made entirely of polypropylene. This new packaging will be completely recyclable and will first be introduced in the United Kingdom before being rolled out across Europe. In France, it will initially be used in the 330 ml format to decrease the CO2 footprint of packaging by 25% and reduce the amount of aluminum sent to landfills each year.

The company faced challenges with recycling due to the various layers of plastic and aluminum in its previous packaging. Although two-thirds of the materials were recyclable, the remaining third required specific technology for separation that many recycling plants did not have. In 2021, Capri-Sun switched its plastic straws to paper straws and committed to becoming 100% recyclable by 2025. With the new mono-material sachet, the brand has achieved this goal and is taking a significant step towards a more eco-friendly product.

Capri-Sun’s move towards sustainable packaging is a positive step in their efforts to reduce their environmental impact. By making their packaging completely recyclable, the brand is taking an important step towards a more eco-friendly product. The brand’s commitment to sustainability and recycling sets a good example for other companies in the industry, demonstrating that even small changes can make a big difference in reducing waste and protecting our planet.
