A North Buffalo business has been ordered to cease all operations due to operating without a license by the City of Buffalo’s Department of Permit and Inspection Services. This action was taken following a gathering of a large crowd observed by Buffalo police outside the establishment at 1783 Hertel Ave around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday near the corner of Vorhees Avenue. The police issued citations to the owner for operating an illegal speakeasy, which included employing an unregistered bouncer, drinking and possessing alcohol in public places, and other violations.

According to City spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge, the agency discovered the business was operating without a license and issued the order to cease operations.
