The Buccaneers have announced the decision to waive wide receiver Deven Thompkins with an injury designation. During his rookie year in 2022, Thompkins played in five games, accumulating 72 offensive snaps and 52 special teams snaps. In 2023, he averaged 9.4 yards on 25 punt returns and 20.4 yards on 16 kickoff returns.

Thompkins played all 17 games for the Bucs last season, where he made a total of 25 touches for 139 yards on offense and served as the primary returner for both punts and kickoffs. He was on the field for 251 offensive snaps and 144 special teams snaps. With his departure, the Buccaneers now have an open spot on their offseason roster.
