Recently, negotiations between Comcast and Bally Sports’ owner, Diamond Sports, broke down. This resulted in Twins games no longer being available on the Comcast network. The conflict arose due to Diamond Sports being in the midst of bankruptcy proceedings.
Diamond Sports Group reassured fans that they can still watch Bally Sports through other platforms such as Fubo, DirecTV, or the network’s streaming service, despite the channel being dropped by Comcast. In a statement, Diamond Sports said they were disappointed by Comcast’s rejection of a proposed extension to keep their channels on the air and prevent fans from watching their favorite local teams.
Comcast plans to issue credits ranging from $8 to $10 to customers who had Bally Sports as part of their cable subscription as a result of the channel being removed from their lineup. The Twins expressed their disappointment over the dispute, acknowledging the impact on fans who want to watch the games. The team emphasized that they have no role in the disagreement between Comcast and Bally Sports and hope for a swift resolution.
Comcast stressed that they had been flexible with Diamond Sports for months but were left with no choice but to drop the programming due to financial constraints. They also apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused and urged customers to contact them if they have any questions or concerns regarding their cable subscription.
