The fall 2024 cohort of the Business of VU program, sponsored by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Finance, is now accepting applications. This program offers members of the Vanderbilt community a unique opportunity to gain insights into the business operations of the university and the broader higher education landscape.

The program was launched in 2017 and has become a highly sought-after educational opportunity for individuals across campus. Consisting of interactive sessions that cover topics such as VU governance, global impacts on higher education, economics, fundraising, and innovation, participants are required to complete readings and actively participate in discussions during nine two-hour sessions. These sessions take place on campus every other Thursday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m., running from late August to early December.

To ensure an engaging experience for all participants, the program cohort is limited to just 35 individuals. Applicants will be selected from a diverse set of campus perspectives, representing a range of schools and units to ensure broad representation across campus. In order to create a cohort that reflects the diversity of schools and units across campus, applications are evaluated based on level of interest, background of experience, and commitment to Vanderbilt University.

Those who are not selected for the fall 2024 cohort are welcome to reapply for a future Business of VU program. For individuals who have questions or require additional information, they can contact BusinessofVU@vanderbilt.edu.
