Becerra Breaks Ella Gibson’s World Record: A Journey to the Hyundai Archery World Cup

Ella Gibson held the world record for 715 points until Becerra attempted to break it. Although she fell short of the record, Becerra managed to score 713 points, which was a personal best in international competition. She was thrilled with her performance, especially since most of her shots were very close to the center.

Becerra’s main goal was to qualify in the top spot, which she achieved. She stayed focused and did not get too caught up in the score. She noted that even her imperfect shots were still very close to the center, which added to her satisfaction with her performance.

The top eight qualifiers in the competition received bonus points towards the Hyundai Archery World Cup Ranking. Some of Becerra’s main competitors include Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Sara Lopez, and Ella Gibson. Aditi Swami, the World Archery Champion, qualified in eighth place with 704 points.

There was no top-64 cut in the compound women’s competition, while Jesse Sut won a shoot-off to secure the last spot in the bracket for the compound men’s event. Korea qualified in first place for both compound men’s and mixed team events, while India took first place for compound women’s team event.
