On Tuesday, the Bears announced the signing of veteran receiver/return specialist DeAndre Carter to a one-year contract. Carter, who is 31 years old, has played in four games with the Bears in 2020 throughout his six-season career. In total, he has played in 94 games and made 21 starts for various teams including the Eagles (2018), Texans (2018-20), Commanders (2021), Chargers (2022), and Raiders (2023).

Throughout his career, Carter has been effective as a return specialist, averaging 22.4 yards with one touchdown on 118 kickoff returns and 9.8 yards on 132 punt returns. He has also caught 108 passes for 1,259 yards and six touchdowns. His most successful offensive season came in 2022 with the Chargers, where he set career highs with 46 receptions, 538 yards, and three touchdown catches.

Carter’s versatility on offense and special teams makes him a valuable addition to the Bears’ roster for the upcoming season.
