Incidents of mail theft have increased significantly in recent years, according to CBS News. Ennis remembered the importance of not tampering with mailboxes, as they are considered a federal issue. Unsure of what to do with the found mail, he reached out to WJZ for guidance. A spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Service recommended filing a report with their Inspector General in such situations. Ennis plans to follow this advice and report the discovery of the mail to the appropriate authorities.
