On April 3, Baker Hughes announced its partnership with Snam, an Italian energy infrastructure company, to provide three NovaLT 12 gas turbine driven compressor trains for a gas compressor station in Sulmona, Italy. This innovative project will support the transport of energy supplies from Azerbaijan, Africa, and the Eastern Mediterranean region to northern Europe via a 425-km long hydrogen-ready pipeline.
The new gas compressor station in Sulmona will play a key role in decarbonizing Snam’s gas network infrastructure as part of the Adriatic Line project. Ganesh Ramaswamy, Executive Vice President of Industrial & Energy Technology at Baker Hughes, highlighted the importance of collaboration in developing technology solutions for decarbonizing energy ecosystems.
