Oilfield services firm Baker Hughes has secured a contract to supply electric-driven liquefaction technologies to Cedar LNG in Canada. This is part of the company’s strategy to benefit from equipment supply contracts for new LNG-producing facilities, as energy firms are investing in the long-term demand for liquefied natural gas.

The Cedar LNG project is a joint venture between midstream service provider Pembina Pipeline Corp and Haisla Nation in Canada. The project involves a proposed floating liquefied natural gas facility. Baker Hughes will be supplying a range of turbomachinery equipment to Cedar LNG as part of this award, which was booked in the first quarter of 2024.

This partnership highlights Baker Hughes’ commitment to providing innovative solutions to the growing LNG industry in Canada. With the demand for LNG expected to increase in the coming years, this contract reflects the company’s continued focus on meeting the needs of its customers in the energy sector.
