Humane, a startup developer of the wearable device AI Pin with artificial intelligence (IA), is currently seeking a buyer for 750 million euros. The company was founded by former Apple employees and recently launched the device, which has faced criticism regarding its battery life and slow responses.
The AI Pin device, unveiled last November, is a wearable that attaches to clothing using a magnetic system on the front of the body. It consists of two separable parts: the body of the computer with a customized Snapdragon processor and an external battery. The device uses AI to enhance user interaction, manage day-to-day tasks, provide answers to voice queries, and analyze elements identified by its camera.
Despite not having a screen, the AI Pin interacts through voice, touch, gestures, or a laser projection with 720p resolution on the user’s palm. The device was released for sale in April but received criticism for its performance. In response to these criticisms, Humane has begun looking for potential buyers with a selling price between $750 and $1 billion.
After launching the AI Pin update along with its Cosmos operating system in late April, Humane has engaged financial advisors for potential buyers while keeping mum about their intentions to sell officially.
