During a meeting in Yerevan today, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and the delegation of the Committee on Political and Security Affairs of the Council of the European Union discussed various topics related to Armenia. The discussion focused on the activities of the EU monitoring mission in Armenia and the economic component of the RA-EU partnership.

Mirzoyan highlighted the opportunities presented by the implementation of the Economic and Investment Plan and the new “Armenia’s Resilience and Growth” program. Additionally, progress towards initiating a dialogue on liberalizing RA-EU visas was discussed.

The foreign minister emphasized the deepening of RA-EU relations, focusing on continuous implementation of Comprehensive and Extended Partnership Agreement. He also reiterated that Armenian people share European aspirations as expressed by Prime Minister in speech to European Parliament in October 2023.

In regards to security in South Caucasus, Mirzoyan discussed normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing Armenia’s readiness to pursue peace through mutual agreement on key issues in peace agreement. The importance of unblocking transport and economic channels was also highlighted with reference to Government’s “Crossroads of Peace” program.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also met with delegation today to discuss various matters of importance.
