Arizona State’s athletic department has achieved a multiyear Academic Progress Rate (APR) average of 994 over the past four years from 2019-2023, announced by the NCAA. This accomplishment marks the third consecutive year that Arizona State has the best APR score in the Pac-12 conference. In the 2022-2023 school year, 15 out of the 23 sports at Arizona State received perfect 1000 APR scores. Notably, six teams maintained streaks of perfect multiyear scores, with men’s golf leading the way with a streak of ten in a row. Women’s golf and gymnastics both have streaks of eight straight perfect scores.

Graham Rossini, newly appointed athletic director, commended Andrea Lore and her team for their efforts in achieving these academic milestones. Rossini highlighted the dedication, communication, and efficiency of the office of student-athlete development, acknowledging its positive impact on student-athletes, families, and program supporters. The Pac-12 conference also saw Arizona State lead in its APR multiyear averages for 11 teams and achieve a perfect 1000 APR score for ten teams in total.

Andrea Lore expressed pride in the student-athletes’ academic achievements and emphasized other impressive statistics such as a 93% graduation success rate and 85% of student-athletes finishing the semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. These outcomes reflect a commitment to excellence and support provided by various entities within the university and athletic department. Arizona State’s average APR score has steadily increased over time to reflect its commitment to academic success for all student-athletes. The national average APR score for all NCAA Division I programs is 984.
