Angus O’Brien, the Dragons back, has recently signed a new “multi-year” contract after an impressive 2022-23 season where he scored 352 points in 89 appearances for the team. Along with other players such as Aaron Wainwright, Rio Dyer, Taine Basham, and Matthew Screech, O’Brien has committed to staying at Rodney Parade.

Despite missing out on playing time due to injuries in the 2023-24 season, head coach Dai Flanagan praised O’Brien’s importance to the squad and expressed regret for missing his contributions on the field. However, O’Brien remains determined to recover and return to playing before the current campaign ends.

The 29-year-old player came through the Dragons academy system and previously played for the Scarlets before returning to Rodney Parade in 2022. He was named Dragons player of the season in 2022-23 and is looking forward to reaching a milestone of 100 matches with the team. O’Brien is excited about what lies ahead for him at Rodney Parade and is eager to get back on the field and continue showcasing his leadership for the Dragons in front of their fans.
