Andy, a seasoned musician and amp technician with 40 years of experience, has recently released his new Fuchs FBT-1 bass amps. Inspired by the iconic SVT bass amps, these amps feature Andy’s own unique enhancements. The challenge for Andy was to capture the tube amp response and feel of the heavy Ampeg SVT amps, but in a more manageable size and weight. By using Ice power modules and a unique hybrid tube/FET preamp with a switch mode power supply at 300 volts, Fuchs was able to achieve this in a compact design.

The FBT-1 bass amps are available in 300 and 700 watt models and feature a tube preamp inspired by the classic SVT with improvements like a subsonic filter and a high-speed audiophile DI output. The amps are small, light, loud and clean, fitting easily in a gig bag and featuring a simple yet effective configuration for musicians.

The amps include input gain control for passive and active bass, Baxandall high and low controls, a parametric 5-way midrange control, and an output master volume. They use Ice power modules for reliability and cool-running performance, with a buffered patch loop between the preamp and power amp.

Overall, the Fuchs FBT-1 bass amps offer a compact yet powerful solution for bass players looking for quality tone and performance. With its impressive list of reviews and endorsers for Fuchs amps, Andy has proven his expertise in creating exceptional instruments that meet the needs of musicians around the world.
