Albany Area Primary Health Care, Inc. has been awarded a $5,187,269 Health Center Program grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This grant was announced by Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), who stated that having health centers close to where people live is essential for timely care and adherence to treatment plans. Rural, smaller, and underserved communities often struggle to maintain local healthcare facilities, making grants like these crucial for improving access to healthcare in these areas.

Albany Area Primary Health Care is among the largest Community Health Centers in Georgia and Southwest Georgia. They are dedicated to providing affordable, accessible, and high-quality primary health care services to individuals and families regardless of their financial status. The organization aims to expand its services, open new offices, and recruit more healthcare providers in Southwest Georgia with this funding. This grant will allow Albany Area Primary Health Care to continue serving the residents of Southwest Georgia effectively.
