Lynn Matrisian, PhD, MBA, the chief science officer at the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), has been named a 2023 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellow. This prestigious honor recognizes her distinguished contributions to the field of cancer biology and marks a significant milestone in her career.

Matrisian expressed her gratitude for being named an AAAS Fellow by stating, “It’s an honor to be recognized for my work in pancreatic cancer and its translation to improve patient outcomes. Being among some of the most esteemed scientists in history is a privilege, and I am proud to be part of this distinguished group.”

The AAAS is a renowned scientific society and publisher of the prestigious Science family of journals. The tradition of electing Fellows dates back to 1874, highlighting individuals who have made significant contributions to science and technology. This year’s cohort includes 502 scientists, engineers, and innovators representing various fields of study across 24 AAAS disciplinary Sections.

As a Fellow of AAAS, Matrisian joins leading experts actively engaged in discussions surrounding emerging technologies, environmental sustainability, science education, innovative therapies, and other pressing issues facing society. Her appointment reflects her dedication to advancing scientific research and improving patient care in the field of cancer biology.
